Riverside Cemetery – Windsor

The graves of African American soldiers who served in the Connecticut 29th and 31st Colored Regiment C.V. Infantries during the Civil War are located in the cemetery. Also buried here are soldiers from all-black regiments in Massachusetts. Seven soldiers have been identified: Wallace Sands, William Giddy, Samuel Thompson, Abraham Thompson, George Fergusson, Travis Babcock and William Swan.
